Data Protection
The Isle of Man’s Data Protection Act 2002 came into operation on 1st April 2003 and is based upon the United Kingdom Data Protection Act 1998 and the EC Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC. The 2002 Act replaced and repealed the Data Protection Act 1986.
The Financial Supervision Commission is registered as a Data Controller in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2002.
The Office of the Data Protection Supervisor is the supervisory body responsible for data protection in the Isle of Man.
